Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuiyan, adviser to the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, on Sunday, November 9, announced that he will contest the upcoming 13th parliamentary elections from Dhaka.

"From which constituency I will compete, no final decision has been made yet in this regard. However, I will contest from Dhaka," he said.

"I have, so far, a plan to contest the polls as an independent candidate," Asif Mahmud, also adviser to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, added.

The adviser shared this information with the reporters after applying for transfering his area of voter to Dhaka from Cumilla at Dhanmondi Thana Election Office in the capital this afternoon.

When asked whether BNP kept a seat empty for him or discussed with him about this, he replied, "I have not had any discussions with anyone."
