BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia now remains under intensive medical supervision in her cabin at Dhaka’s Evercare Hospital, where she has been admitted since Sunday following a deterioration in her health.

According to Professor FM Siddiqui, a member of her medical board, Khaleda Zia has been diagnosed with a lung infection. Now they are keeping her under close and continuous observation in a cabin.

“She is receiving treatment under strict monitoring,” Prof. Siddiqui said, noting that her frail physical condition requires heightened caution and specialised care.

Hospital sources say all necessary medical interventions are being administered as doctors assess her response to treatment.

The BNP chief’s health has long been a matter of concern, and the latest development has further intensified attention from party leaders and supporters.

This follows earlier updates from her medical team warning that her condition remains sensitive and that prompt, round-the-clock care is essential.
