BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia’s physical condition has remained unchanged for the past three days.

She is undergoing treatment at the capital’s Evercare Hospital on the advice of local and foreign doctors and will continue to do so for the time being.

BNP National Standing Committee member and Khaleda Zia’s personal physician, Professor Dr AZM Zahid Hossain, shared the update during a press conference at the Evercare Hospital gate after 9pm on Saturday, November 29.

He said the former prime minister is being treated jointly by physicians from the UK, Saudi Arabia, China and the United States, alongside Bangladeshi specialists. Based on their collective assessments, her treatment at Evercare is ongoing and will continue.

Zahid Hossain added that BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman is constantly monitoring Khaleda Zia’s treatment and providing instructions. Her two daughters-in-law, younger brother, other relatives and party leaders are also closely supporting the process.

He requested that people refrain from crowding the hospital to see the BNP chairperson, noting that the party has arranged “world-class medical facilities” for her.

On the possibility of transferring Khaleda Zia abroad for treatment, Zahid Hossain said any decision would depend on advice from the combined local and foreign medical board, and the nation would be informed through the media if such a recommendation is made.
