BNP announces 36 more candidates in 2nd phase of nomination
The BNP has announced the names of 36 more candidates, including four from Dhaka, to contest the upcoming Jatiya Sangsad election.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir released the list at a press conference at the party chairperson’s Gulshan office on Thursday afternoon.
“The rest of the candidates will be announced later upon discussions with our allies,” Mirza Fakhrul said.
Earlier, on November 3, the party unveiled a list of 237 candidates, but the following day suspended the nomination of Kamal Zaman Mollah for the Madaripur-1 constituency. With Thursday’s announcement, the total number of declared candidates now stands at 272.
The BNP Secretary General said the remaining 28 seats will be finalised and announced later.
