No leader ever welcomed like Tarique will be: Fakhrul
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said that Tarique Rahman will receive a reception in Dhaka “unlike anything any leader has received in the past” upon his return from London.
Speaking at a discussion at the Institution of Diploma Engineers Bangladesh in Dhaka on Sunday afternoon, Fakhrul referred to the end of Tarique Rahman’s 18-year exile and outlined the party’s preparations to welcome him.
“I want to express my deep gratitude to Almighty Allah. After 18 long years in exile, Insha Allah, our leader will be with us again on December 25. This is a great source of inspiration for us,” he said.
Calling on party leaders and activists, Fakhrul added, “Let us give him a reception on December 25 that no leader has ever received in Bangladesh. We are fully prepared, Insha Allah.”
Referring to the current political situation, Fakhrul said the news of Tarique Rahman’s return has filled the party with renewed hope.
“On one hand, the country’s leader, Begum Khaleda Zia, is ill and undergoing treatment in hospital. On the other, amid this uncertainty, we now have the assurance that our leader – who guides us and shows us the way forward – will be with us on the 25th,” he said.
