Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) Vice-President Shadik Kayem has issued three demands including resignation of three advisers in response to the shooting of Sharif Osman Hadi, a potential independent candidate for the Dhaka-8 constituency.

He warned that if these demands are not met immediately and there is no visible improvement in the law and order situation, the advisers for Home Affairs, Law, and Foreign Affairs will have to resign. Notably, Shadik Kayem made these statements while standing beside Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury.

On Monday, December 15, a 14-member delegation led by DUCSU VP Shadik Kayem met the Home Affairs Adviser at the ministry to present the three demands, which included calls for the resignation of the three advisers.

The delegation of protesters went to the ministry after holding a march towards the ministry from the Central Shaheed Minar.
