Jahangir flags infiltration of fascists’ allies in political parties

Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury on Sunday warned that some political party leaders and activists are unknowingly giving space to “fascists’ friends, terrorists and miscreants” within their organisations.

He made the remarks while speaking to reporters after a meeting of the Core Committee on Law and Order at the Secretariat on Sunday (December 28).

“I request political parties to remain vigilant against fascists’ friends, terrorists and miscreants who may be operating within their ranks,” the adviser said. “We are receiving information that some leaders and activists of different political parties are allowing such elements into their parties without properly identifying them.”

The adviser urged political leaders to identify those he described as corrupt criminals and distance themselves from them. “If necessary, they should seek cooperation from law enforcement agencies. Only then, I believe, will the law and order situation come under control,” he added.
