Khaleda Zia’s body taken to Manik Mia Avenue

The body of BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia was taken from her son Tarique Rahman’s house in Gulshan 2, Dhaka, to Manik Mia Avenue, where her funeral prayer is scheduled for 2:00 pm on Wednesday.

After the namaz-e-janaza, Khaleda Zia will be laid to rest beside her late husband, President Ziaur Rahman, at Zia Udyan.

From Tarique Rahman’s house, the procession is expected to move along Kamal Ataturk Avenue, onto Airport Road, pass Mohakhali Flyover, and continue via Jahangir Gate and Bijoy Sarani.

Earlier in the morning, her body was taken from Evercare Hospital to her son’s house.

The former Prime Minister died around 6:00am on Tuesday (30 December) while undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in the capital. She was 80.
