11-party alliance postpones seat-sharing press conference

The press conference of the 11-party alliance, led by Jamaat-e-Islami, to announce its final seat-sharing decision has been postponed. The announcement was made in a message signed by Hamidur Rahman Azad, Assistant Secretary General of Jamaat and coordinator of the 11-party alliance, at 2:15 pm on Wednesday.

Earlier in the day, another notice signed by Hamidur Rahman Azad had stated that the press conference was scheduled for 4:30 pm on Wednesday at the Freedom Fighters Hall (2nd floor) of the Diploma Engineers’ Institution in the capital.

Ahead of the 13th national parliamentary elections, discussions over seat-sharing among Jamaat-e-Islami, the National Citizen Party, and nine other parties are ongoing, but no final consensus has yet been reached.

The alliance includes Jamaat-e-Islami, National Citizen Party, Islami Andolon Bangladesh, Bangladesh Khilafat Andolon, Bangladesh Khilafat Majlish, Khilafat Majlish, Nezam-e-Islam Party, National Democratic Party, Bangladesh Development Party (BDP), AB Party, and LDP.
