BNP leader shot in Keraniganj dies at hospital
A Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) leader, who was shot in Keraniganj on Thursday, succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at Holy Family Hospital in Dhaka on Saturday, January 24.
The deceased, Hasan Molla, 42, was the General Secretary of Hazratpur union BNP unit BNP.
Confirming the matter, Keraniganj Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Saiful Alam said that Hasan Molla’s condition deteriorated on Friday night, prompting his transfer from Dhaka Medical College Hospital to Holy Family Hospital, where he later succumbed.
The attack took place around 9:15 pm on Thursday in front of the BNP office in Ward No. 9 of Jagannathpur village in the upazila.
Eyewitnesses said that several unidentified assailants suddenly opened fire on Hasan Molla before fleeing the scene. He was critically injured and initially taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital around 11:00 pm.
