Bangladesh’s fate will no longer be decided abroad: Sarjis
Sarjis Alam, NCP leader and joint candidate of 11 political parties in the Panchagarh‑1 constituency, said on Monday that the era when Bangladesh’s fate could be determined from outside the country is over.
Speaking at a campaign meeting in Tulardanga, Panchagarh city, he said, “The day when anyone, including Sheikh Hasina or foreign agents, could sit abroad and decide Bangladesh’s future is over. This revolutionary generation is awake, and if necessary, they will take to the streets. If they have courage, let them come to Bangladesh. The people will show them their true position.”
Alam emphasized the importance of ending misuse of power and ensuring justice at all levels. “If we can stop abuse by politicians and ensure justice for the people, we can truly liberate Bangladesh, Insha Allah,” he said.
He said public response to the campaign has been overwhelmingly positive. “People are hopeful and believe that a ballot revolution will take place on election day. If voting is transparent, the 11-party alliance can form the government not only in Panchagarh‑1 but across the country,” Alam added.
He also criticized the BNP, alleging that local leaders have threatened citizens and displayed authoritarian behavior.
“We urge everyone to go to the people, seek votes fairly, and let the electorate decide. Justice will prevail over oppression,” he said.
