Jamaat amir vows to protect women's dignity
Alleging that mothers and sisters are being assaulted in various places, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Dr Shafiqur Rahman has vowed to protect women's dignity, even if with their lives.
"We will sacrifice our lives, if necessary, but will not allow anyone to dishonour mothers and sisters," he said while addressing a public rally at Lakshmipur Adarsha Samad Govt. High School in Lakshmipur on Friday afternoon, January 30.
Indicating the BNP, the Jamaat amir said, "On one hand, you promise family card for people, on the other hand, you assault women. Morning shows the day. Seeing your behaviour, the countrymen understand what you will do for them."
Saying that mothers who give birth to children like Shaheed Osman bin Hadi and Abu Sayeed do not care about anyone at all, Dr Shafiqur questioned, "If anyone violates the electoral code of conduct, complain to the returning officer, and the administration will take action, who are you to do so?"
Mentioning that Jamaat leader Rezaul Karim was martyred in Sherpur, he said, "Do you intimidate us? We will give our lives but will not accept defeat."
