We reject politics that kills people: Jamaat Amir
Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Dr Shafiqur Rahman on Sunday said he rejects any form of politics where people are killed in its name, calling such practices unacceptable.
Addressing an election rally in Sherpur on February 1, he claimed that a certain political party had caused the deaths of more than 200 of its own people within just 17 months after the 2024 uprising, adding that Jamaat does not support such politics.
“We want a country where there is no violence in the name of so-called peace and no place for dirty or shameful incidents,” Shafiqur said.
District Jamaat Amir Maulana Hafizur Rahman, Central Organising Secretary and Mymensingh regional in-charge Dr Samiul Farooqui, Bangladesh Development Party Central Finance Secretary Riyad Hossain, DUCSU General Secretary SM Farhad, and other party leaders were present at the rally.
