Nahid files writ challenging Quayum’s candidacy in Dhaka-11

A writ petition has been filed challenging the candidacy of BNP-nominated candidate Dr MA Quayum in the Dhaka-11 constituency over allegations of concealing information about foreign citizenship.
Nahid Islam, convener of the National Citizen Party (NCP) and the 11-party alliance candidate for the constituency, submitted the petition at the relevant branch of the High Court on Monday (January 2).
The petition seeks to suspend Dr Quayum’s candidacy in Dhaka-11.
