‘Those who can’t manage their party, how can they run the country’
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Dr Shafiqur Rahman said, “Those who cannot manage their own party, how can they run the country? Since August 5, they have been extorting money from innocent people by filing cases against them. People are fed up with them.”
He made the remarks on Friday (6 February) at 10:00 am during an election rally at the Patarhat RC College ground in Mehendiganj Upazila of Barishal.
Shafiqur Rahman added, “I am ready to give my life, but I will never compromise the honour of any mother. Some people tried to conspire, but it backfired on them. They are spreading lies about things I never said. We will ensure the safety of mothers and daughters in the country.”
He further stated, “If we come to power, there will be no extrajudicial killings in the country. Before 5 August, such killings were frequent. Many innocent people have been killed in the past. Previously, Delwar Hossain Saydee was brutally murdered. Such incidents must not happen again.”
The Jamaat Amir said, “We do not seek victory for Jamaat-e-Islami alone; we seek the victory of 18 crore people. If we are victorious, all citizens will be victorious. We want to build a beautiful country together, where everyone has equal rights, and the justice system is fair for all.”
