Mufti Syed Muhammad Faizul Karim, senior Nayeb-e-Amir of Islami Andolan Bangladesh and the party’s candidate, said the election environment remains normal so far. However, he expressed concerns about potential rigging until the final results are officially announced.

Speaking after casting his vote on Thursday (12 February) morning at Rupatali Government Secondary School in Barishal, he said, “For a long time, people have been eagerly waiting like a Jacobin cuckoo to exercise their voting rights. That opportunity has finally come. The administration must ensure that people can vote smoothly without any hindrance.”

He added, “The people will vote for the candidates of their choice. We do not want the results to be manipulated. Voters should be able to know the results of their chosen candidates.”

He further cautioned, “Even if the voting environment is peaceful and fair, something may still happen behind the scenes. Therefore, the voting environment cannot be considered completely secure until the results are officially announced.”
