Shishir Manir congratulates rival ahead of official results

Jamaat-e-Islami nominee and Supreme Court lawyer Shishir Manir congratulated BNP candidate Nasir Uddin Chowdhury in the Sunamganj-2 (Dirai-Shalla) constituency even before the official results were announced.
In a Facebook post at around 8:00 pm on Thursday, Shishir wrote: “Congratulations to the victorious Paddy Sheaf candidate Nasir Uddin Chowdhury in my constituency. Best wishes to you.”
Voting for the 13th parliamentary election ended at 4:30 pm Thursday, and ballot counting has already begun. Unofficial results from several centres have started to emerge.
