BNP-backed candidate Partha leads in Bhola-1

BNP alliance-backed candidate Barrister Andalib Rahman Partha is leading in the Bhola-1 constituency, according to the latest unofficial results from 94 polling centres.

Partha, contesting with the ‘Garur Gari’ (bullock cart) symbol, has so far secured 83,222 votes. His nearest rival, Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Nazrul Islam, with the ‘Dandipalla’ (scale) symbol, has received 61,858 votes.

Islami Andolan candidate Md Obaidur Rahman, contesting with the ‘Hatpakha’ (hand fan) symbol, has polled 17,980 votes.

Md Arifuzzaman, Assistant Returning Officer of Bhola Sadar, confirmed the figures.

The Bhola-1 constituency has 405,567 registered voters across 114 polling centres and 834 polling booths. A total of eight candidates are contesting the seat.
