Gold prices rise to Tk 2.09 lakh from Tk 2.02 lakh
The Bangladesh Jeweler’s Association (BAJUS) has raised the prices of gold again in a day, with 22 carat gold up by Tk 6,906 to Tk 2,09,101 per bhori (11.664 grams), the highest so far in the country’s history.
Besides, 21-carat gold was increased by Tk 6,590 to Tk 1,99,594 a bhori, 18-carat by Tk 5,657 to Tk 1,71,088, and gold of traditional method by Tk 4,829 to Tk 1,42,301 respectively.
The prices have been hiked following a rise in the price of pure gold in the local market, BAJUS said in a statement on Wednesday, October 8.
The new prices will come into effect from Thursday, October 9.
Earlier on Tuesday, October 7, the price of 22-carat gold was hiked to a record high of Tk 2,02,195 per bhori.
