PRAN launches Bangladesh Agro-Industry Media Award
PRAN Group, a leading organization in the country’s agro-processing sector, has launched the Bangladesh Agro-Industry Media Award to honour journalists covering agriculture and the agro-processing sector. Through this initiative, seven journalists will be recognised in 2025 for the best reports in three categories—print, online, and television.
Journalists can submit their reports online for the award starting Sunday (November 16). The official announcement was made on Tuesday (November 11) at an event held at a hotel in Gulshan, Dhaka.
According to the organizers, reports published between November 16 and December 31 this year will be evaluated by a three-member jury board to select the award recipients. Journalists can submit their entries through the website: agromediaaward.com. No physical submissions are required. If a report is published in both print and online formats, participants may submit it under only one category.

The organisers have urged journalists to focus on various aspects of the agriculture and agro-processing sector, including agricultural product marketing, good agricultural practices, integrated farming, sectoral expansion for farmers’ benefit, the business landscape of the agro-processing industry, innovation, opportunities and challenges, new investments, employment generation, social impact, supply chain, exports, and future prospects of the sector.
Addressing the programme, Kamruzzaman Kamal, Marketing Director of PRAN-RFL Group said, “Agriculture and the agro-processing sector are among the key drivers of the country’s economic growth. This initiative is part of PRAN Group’s continued effort to promote data-driven journalism and encourage journalists to explore the opportunities and challenges of Bangladesh’s agro-processing industry. We are very pleased to introduce such an initiative.”
Touhiduzzaman, Deptuty General Manager (Public Relations) said, “As part of national development, PRAN Group has always been working to advance agriculture and the agro-processing sector. This initiative will strengthen the connection between the media and the agro-processing sector, which is crucial for the country’s overall progress.”
