The government has decided that the students of class I to class III will not have to appear in first and second terminal examinations from this year, said Primary and Mass Education Secretary Farid Ahmad.

Performance of the students in the classes will be evaluated continuously through apps, he told reporters while addressing a press conference at the Secretariat in Dhaka on Thursday.

He said an app has been developed to evaluate the students. The government is trying to free the students from extra loads, he said, adding that pupils will also be evaluated on their overall performance at school.

It is noted that the implementation of a new curriculum at primary and secondary levels began in 2023. The system will be implemented in class XII in 2027.
