1,219 pass 49th Special BCS written exam
The results of the 49th Special Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examination for recruitment in the education cadre have been published, with 1,219 candidates declared successful.
The Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) released the results at 10:10 pm on Sunday (October 19), signed by BPSC Examination Controller (Cadre) Masuma Afreen. BPSC Public Relations Officer SM Matiur Rahman confirmed the development.
According to the official notice, the MCQ-type written test of the special BCS was held on October 10, and the results have now been published. The list of provisionally qualified candidates is available on the BPSC’s official website (www.bpsc.gov.bd) and Teletalk Bangladesh Limited’s website (http://bpsc.teletalk.com.bd).
The written examination (MCQ type) was held on October 10 from 10 am to 12 pm at centres in Dhaka city only. A total of 374,752 applicants registered for the test, though the Commission has not disclosed the exact number of participants.
According to the circular, the special BCS will recruit lecturers for 653 vacant posts in various departments of government general colleges, along with 30 posts in government teacher training colleges.
Among the vacancies, the highest number (61) is in the Bangla department, followed by 55 in Political Science, 50 in English, 40 in Economics, 32 in Islamic History and Culture, and 30 each in Philosophy and Chemistry, among others.
