Five govt colleges’ students block Shahbagh intersection

Students from five government colleges in Dhaka have blocked Shahbagh intersection, demanding the cancellation of the proposed schooling model. They cited uncertainty caused by the draft ordinance and the ministry’s press release regarding the Dhaka Central University schooling model.

The students blocked Shahbagh intersection around 11:45 am on Sunday (7 December). Earlier, after 11:00 am, higher secondary students of Dhaka College gathered at the Science Lab intersection. Later, students from Government Bangla College, Kabi Nazrul Government College, Shaheed Suhrawardy Government College, and Begum Badrunnesa Government Women’s College joined the procession, blocking Shahbagh intersection.

Traffic at Shahbagh intersection remains halted so far.
