DU student found dead in Hazaribagh

Police recovered the body of a Dhaka University student from a residence in the capital’s Hazaribagh area early Friday.

The deceased, Saiful Amin, alias Simanto, 25, was a student of the department of Chemistry at the university. 

According to relatives, Simanto used to live in a room at a residential building on Moneshwar Road in Hazaribagh. He remained inside his room after 9:00 pm. When he did not respond for an extended period, the building owner was informed, and the door was forced open, after which he was found unconscious.

Later, he was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead upon arrival.

Family members reported a strong odor of a toxic substance coming from his mouth. However, the exact cause of death has not yet been confirmed.

Confirming the matter, Inspector Md Faruk, in charge of the police camp at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, said that the body was sent to the morgue for autopsy. 

The reason behind the death could be determined following the post-mortem report.
