Man who put Quran in puja mandap identified

Seeing CCTV footage, police have identified the man who put the Holy Quran at Nanua Dighir Par puja mandap in Cumilla city.

He has been identified as Iqbal Hossain, son of Noor Ahmed Alam, a resident of Sujanagar area in the city.

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal confirmed the matter to Jago News on Wednesday night.

He said, "I've watched the footage in which a youth was seen taking a Quran from mosque and carrying it towards road. After a while, I saw cudgel of 'Hanuman Thakur' in his hands instead of Quran."

The law enforcers have been trying to arrest the youth, the minister said, adding that he would be apprehended any time.
