Teacher couple found dead in private car in Gazipur

Police recovered the bodies of a man and his wife from their private car at Nimtoli Haydrabad bridge area in Tongi of Gazipur early Thursday.

Deceased Ziaur Rahman Mamun was the head teacher of Shaheed Smrity High School in Tongi and his wife Jely Akhter was the assistant teacher of Amzad Ali School. 

The couple’s son Md Miraz said his parents were returning home in Kamarjuri area ending their school work at about 6:20pm on Wednesday. But after that, they were missing.

The duo were found dead inside their car and were taken to Tayrunnesa Medical College Hospital. Later, they were taken to a hospital in Uttara where the on-duty doctors declared them dead.  

Nondolal Chowdhury, Officer-in-charge of Gazipur Metropolitan’s Gachha Police Station, said the dead bodies were sent to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital for autopsies.
