Gazipur gets new police commissioner

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Md Mahbub Alam has been appointed as the new commissioner of Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP).

Public Security Division of the Home Ministry issued a gazette notification in this regard on Wednesday.

This order will be effective from Wednesday, the notification added.

Mahbub joined the police service as Assistant Superintendent of Police on January 25, 1999. 

He was promoted to DIG in May last year.
