Renowned poet and veteran member of Jatiya Press Club Helal Hafiz passed away on Friday, December 13. He was 76.
Ayub Bhuiyan, secretary of Jatiya Press Club, confirmed the matter.
He was found unconscious in the bathroom at Super Home in Dhaka's Shahbagh area this afternoon.
Later, he was taken to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Hospital where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.
It is believed that he slipped in the bathroom and died.
Jatiya Press Club member poet Abid Azam said his namaz-e-janaza will be held on the press club premises on Saturday.
