The High Court has dismissed a writ petition challenging the swearing-in of the interim government, based on the opinion of the Supreme Court under Article 106 of the Constitution. The writ petition was dismissed after its preliminary hearing on Monday.

In its observation, the court said that the people of Bangladesh have accepted the interim government as legitimate, and therefore, there can be no debate on the matter. The international community has also recognised the interim government, so there is no room for questioning it.

However, the petitioner's lawyer, Mohsin Rashid, stated that they will appeal the decision in the apex court.
