6 reform commissions’ terms extended again until Feb 15

The government has once again extended the tenure of six reform commissions tasked with addressing major challenges and driving improvements across various sectors. A notification issued by the Cabinet Division on Monday announced that the terms of these commissions have been extended until February 15.

The commissions whose terms have been extended include the Electoral Reform Commission, Police Reform Commission, Judiciary Reform Commission, Anti-Corruption Reform Commission, Public Administration Reform Commission, and Constitutional Reform Commission.

According to the Cabinet Division, additional time has been granted to the Electoral, Constitutional, Anti-Corruption, and Police Reform Commissions, which had previously submitted recommendation reports, to finalise their priorities.

The terms of the Judiciary Reform Commission and Public Administration Reform Commission had been extended earlier until January 31.

The Constitutional Reform Commission was formed on October 6, while the other five reform commissions were established on October 3, with notifications issued by the Cabinet Division. Initially, all of the commissions were given 90 days to submit their reports, but the deadline has now been extended.
