Chief of Army Staff General Waker-uz-Zaman called on Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus at the State Guest House Jamuna on Wednesday to brief him on Bangladesh’s security situation.

The courtesy call saw the Army Chief lay out the military’s latest moves—from global ties to healing July’s wounds.

Waker painted a broad picture for Yunus, detailing the army’s role in safeguarding the country and its ongoing efforts to bolster development.

A press release from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) spotlighted the agenda: security updates, international outreach, and internal reforms.

Yunus, in turn, lauded the army’s grit and offered guidance for the road ahead, urging unwavering professionalism.

Fresh from the Central African Republic, Waker shared how his recent trip could tighten military bonds and boost cooperation with the distant ally.

Back home, he briefed Yunus on two high-level councils—one assessing justice for side-lined officers, another tackling dismissed junior commissioned officers (JCOs) and ranks.

Recommendations are in motion, he assured, signalling a push to right past wrongs.

The Army Chief also outlined the military’s work to treat injured students and citizens during July-August’s mass uprising, a nod to the unrest’s lingering toll.

Yunus nodded approval, hopeful the army’s dedication would hold firm as Bangladesh steadies itself.
