Ex-CEC Nurul Huda arrested

The police have arrested former Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AKM Nurul Huda in Dhaka.
Local people detained Nurul Huda in the capital's Uttara on Sunday evening, June 22, and handed over to the police.
Uttara West police station's officer-in-charge, Md Hafijur Rahman, confirmed his arrest to Jago News.
The former CEC has been arrested as there is a case against him and further leagl action in this regard is under process, Hafijur said.
The arrest came hours after the BNP filed a case with Sher-e-Bangla Nagar police station against 24 individuals, including ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina, former Chief Election Commissioners (CECs), including Nurul Huda, Election Commissioners (ECs), members of law enforcement agencies, and officials from various state institutions, in connection with the national elections held in 2014, 2018, and 2024.
