2 dengue deaths, 159 fresh cases recorded in 24 hrs
Two more deaths were reported from dengue in the last 24 hours (from Thursday 8:00am to Friday 8:00am), taking the total number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease to 40 this year.
The new two deaths were reported in Barishal division (outside the city corporation).
During the period, 159 more patients were hospitalised with viral fever, raising the total cases to 9,222 to date this year, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said in a statement today (June 27).
Of the new cases, highest 107 were reported in Barishal division (outside the city corporation), 11 in Chattogram (outside the city corporation), 12 in Dhaka (outside the city corporation), 15 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), and 6 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).
Besides, 6 cases were recorded in Rajshahi (outside the city corporation), and 2 in Sylhet division (outside the city corporation).
