2 DNCC cleaners killed by covered van in Khilkhet

Two cleaners of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) were killed after being run over by a covered van in the capital’s Khilkhet area early Sunday.
The accident occurred around 4:45am near the Le Méridien Hotel, confirmed Khilkhet Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Sajjad Hossain.
He said the two DNCC cleaners died after being hit by a covered van early in the morning. The driver of the vehicle has been arrested in connection with the incident.
Although the identities of the deceased have been confirmed, OC Sajjad Hossain said he could not immediately disclose their names. He added that further details would be available after consulting the duty officer.
