Voters’ List (Amendment) Ordinance gets cabinet nod
The Council of Advisers, in its 34th meeting held at the Chief Adviser’s Office in Tejgaon, Dhaka, on Thursday, July 17, granted in-principle approval to the draft Voters’ List (Amendment) Ordinance, 2025, according to a Cabinet Division press release.
The move signals ongoing efforts to reform electoral processes in Bangladesh.
In addition to the voters’ list amendment, the council approved the draft Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (Amendment) Ordinance, 2025, aimed at enhancing the framework for investment promotion and economic growth.
The draft Human Organ Transplantation Ordinance, 2025 also received final approval, pending vetting by the Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Division, to strengthen regulations governing organ transplantation.
These approvals reflect the interim government’s focus on institutional reforms to support democratic governance, economic development, and public health.
