The family of Tajuddin Ahmed, a pivotal figure in Bangladesh’s 1971 Liberation War and the country’s first Prime Minister, met with Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus on Thursday, July 17, to invite him to Tajuddin’s birth centenary celebrations. 

The meeting took place at the State Guest House Jamuna in Dhaka.

Tajuddin’s eldest daughter, Sharmin Ahmed, and his son, Tanzim Ahmed Sohel Taj, extended a formal invitation to Yunus for the commemorative event honouring their father’s legacy, according to the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing. 

During the meeting, Sharmin presented Yunus with a copy of her book, Tajuddin Ahmed: Leader and Father, which chronicles the life and contributions of the revered leader.

The centenary celebration aims to honour Tajuddin Ahmed’s instrumental role in organizing the Liberation War and his leadership as Bangladesh’s first Prime Minister.
