Professor Dr Sayedur Rahman, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser, said that the identities of six bodies kept at the CMH morgue have not yet been confirmed.

“Under the supervision of specialists from the Ministry of Health, samples have already been collected from the bodies for DNA profiling. The profiling will be conducted soon at the CID laboratory,” he said.

He added that families of the missing persons — whose children or relatives' names are not on the published list of the dead or injured — are requested to go to the CID headquarters in Malibagh to provide DNA samples for matching.

This information was provided in a press release issued by the Ministry of Health on Tuesday night.

According to the ministry, so far only one missing person's family has contacted authorities and provided a sample. Once samples from the families of the missing are received, the identities can be confirmed through DNA matching in the shortest possible time.
