Technical snag forces Biman emergency landing with 287 aboard

A Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight carrying 287 passengers performed a safe emergency landing at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram 20 minutes after departing for Dhaka, prompted by a technical malfunction.

The flight, which took off on schedule at 8:37am, returned to the airport by 9:00am, landing without incident.

Shah Amanat Airport Public Relations Officer, Engineer Md Ibrahim Khalil, confirmed that all passengers and crew were unharmed.

The aircraft, which had arrived from Dubai at 7:15am earlier that day, is now stationed at Bay 8 of Shah Amanat International Airport.

Biman’s engineering team is actively investigating the mechanical issue.

To ensure passengers reached their destination, a replacement flight from Muscat was arranged, departing Chattogram for Dhaka at 11:00am.

Biman Bangladesh Airlines has prioritised passenger safety and is working to resolve the issue promptly, with further updates expected as the investigation progresses.
