3 students, 2 guardians still missing after jet crash: Milestone school
Milestone School and College authorities released an official statement on Thursday, July 24, regarding the tragic crash of an FT-7 BGI fighter jet into the Haider Ali Academic Building in Uttara of Dhaka.
The statement, sent to the media in the afternoon, detailed the devastating toll of the incident.
According to the statement, the crash, which occurred between 1:12pm and 1:14pm on July 21, claimed the lives of 18 students, two teachers, and two guardians.
Additionally, three students and two guardians remain missing.
The accident left 51 people seriously injured, including 40 students, seven teachers, one guardian, one nanny, and one peon.
The institution has formed an investigation committee on July 22 to probe the incident.
Milestone authorities pledged full support to the families of the deceased and injured, expressing gratitude to the caretaker government’s chief adviser, advisory council, the ministries of health and education, the Bangladesh Air Force, the Directorate General of Health Services, the media, and the public for their support.
“We are deeply grateful to everyone who has stood by us during this heart-breaking loss of students and loved ones. We seek your prayers and sympathy,” the statement read.
