Mahin Sarker has withdrawn from the race for the General Secretary (GS) position in the Dhaka University Central Students’ (DUCSU) elections. He has announced his support for Abu Baker Mojumder of the Democratic Students’ Council (BAGCHAS) for the same post.

Mahin, the suspended Joint Member Secretary of the National Citizen Party (NCP), made the announcement at a press conference on Friday (September 5) around 11:30 am at Dhaka University’s Madhur Canteen.

Speaking at the conference, Mahin said, “Unity among the forces of the mass uprising is essential everywhere. I believe that if a front-runner of the uprising is elected to DUCSU, they will be more accountable than anyone else. Abu Baker Mojumder is a prominent leader of the uprising. If he wins, it will signify my victory as well. I hereby express my support for Abu Baker Mojumder.”
