2 more die from dengue, 678 hospitalised in 24 hrs

Two more deaths were reported from dengue in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease to 181 this year.

Of the new deaths, one was reported in Barishal division (outside the city corporation) and another in Mymensingh division (outside the city corporation).

During the period, 678 more patients were hospitalised with viral fever, raising the total cases to 42,509 to date this year, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said in a statement today (September 22).

Of the new cases, 149 were reported in Barishal division (outside the city corporation), 90 in Chattogram division (outside the city corporation), 113 in Dhaka division (outside the city corporation), 126 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), and 74 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).

Besides, 25 cases were recorded in Khulna division (outside the city corporation), 33 in Mymensingh division (outside the city corporation), 55 in Rajshahi division (outside the city corporation), 10 in Rangpur division (outside the city corporation), and three in Sylhet division (outside the city corporation).
