Asif Mahmud leads NCP delegation to Charmonai gathering

A delegation of the National Citizen Party (NCP), led by its spokesperson Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain, has arrived in Charmonai, Barishal, to attend a religious gathering (mahfil). He reached the Charmonai Darbar on Thursday morning (April 2).

After Fajr prayers, he joined a sermon delivered by Charmonai Pir Mufti Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim and later took part in a brief closed-door discussion following the session.

Among those present were Islami Andolan Bangladesh Joint Secretary General and spokesperson Maulana Gazi Ataur Rahman; Joint Secretary General Engineer Ashraful Alam; NCP Joint Convener Sarwar Tushar; Joint Member Secretary Faisal Mahmud Shanto; Central Organiser and Member Secretary of the National Olama Alliance Maulana Sanaullah Khan; Central Member Hamza Mahbub; President of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Rifat Rashid; student leader and former DUCSU VP candidate Abdul Kader; and Jatiya Chhatra Shakti leader Zobayer Hossain, among others.

KM Shariatullah, media coordinator of the Charmonai mahfil, said NCP leaders will stay in Charmonai throughout the day. NCP leader Asif Mahmud is scheduled to deliver a speech from the mahfil stage after Zuhr prayers.
