Abul Hasan Mahmud Ali, former Member of Parliament for Dinajpur-4, former Finance Minister and Foreign Minister, and former diplomat, has passed away.
He died on Thursday (6 November) evening while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the capital. He was 82 years old.
He is survived by his family, numerous relatives, colleagues, admirers, and well-wishers.
Mahmud Ali served as the country’s Foreign Minister from 2014 to 2018. After being re-elected in the 12th national parliamentary election in 2024, he was once again entrusted with the responsibilities of the Finance Ministry.
