Law enforcement agencies are on high alert ahead of the November 13 ‘Dhaka Lockdown’ programme announced by the Awami League, whose activities remain banned, said Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, Adviser to the Ministry of Home Affairs, on Tuesday. He also expressed confidence that the situation will remain normal on that day.

The adviser made the remarks after a meeting of the Advisory Committee on Law and Order at the Secretariat on Tuesday (November 11).

“There has been extensive discussion here, and we need a little cooperation from you. If you see anyone suspicious, immediately inform the law enforcement agencies,” he said.

“Law enforcement agencies have taken a firm stance regarding November 13. They will remain in a strong position. The situation will remain normal. There is no cause for concern,” the adviser added.

Jahangir Alam further said, “No leniency will be shown to terrorists. You often mention that terrorists get bail very quickly; to prevent them from getting bail easily, we will also request those who grant bail not to give bail to terrorists.”
