Pickup van set on fire in Ashulia

Arsonists set fire to a pickup van parked beside a road in Ashulia, Savar, Dhaka early Friday. No casualties were reported.

The arson attack occurred around 5am in front of Medlar Garments in the Sarkar Market area.

Quoting locals, the Fire Service said two individuals arrived on a motorcycle, poured petrol on the pickup, set it ablaze, and fled the scene. Local residents attempted to control the fire and informed the Fire Service.

Abu Sayem Masum, Senior Station Officer of the Jirabo Modern Fire Station, said that upon receiving the call, two Fire Service units rushed to the spot and brought the flames under control. By that time, however, the pickup had already been burnt. No casualties were reported.
