Parked minibus catches fire in N'ganj

A fire broke out in a minibus parked beside the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway in Narayanganj's Siddhirganj in the early hours of Saturday, November 15.

The incident took place in front of the Roads and Highways Department office in Shimrail area around 6:00am.

Police said the driver of the bus parked it in front of the RHD office at about 10:00pm on Friday, November 14. Locals saw a fire in the bus in the early hours and reported the incident to the Fire Service.

Later, the firefighters in association of the locals managed to bring the blaze under control.

As there was no one inside the bus, no casualties were reported.

It has not been confirmed whether the fire originated due to mechanical fault or any other reasons, said Siddhirganj police station's officer-in-charge, Mohammad Shahinur Alam.
