Crimes against humanity: ICT releases full verdict against Hasina, Kamal, Mamun

The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) has released the full text of its landmark verdict sentencing ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal to death, and former Inspector General of Police Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun to five years in prison for crimes against humanity committed during the July uprising.

The complete judgment was published on Wednesday, November 26, after which Zayed Bin Amjad, lawyer for former IGP Al-Mamun – who testified as an approver – collected an official copy from the tribunal.

The Tribunal-1 bench, headed by Justice Golam Mortuza Majumder with members Justice Shafiul Alam Mahmud and Judge Mohitul Haque Enam Chowdhury, originally delivered the verdict on November 17.

With the full judgment now made public, the defendants may proceed with the next legal steps, including appeals where applicable.
