Milestone tragedy: Victims’ families to get Tk 20 lakh

The government will provide Tk 20 lakh one-time to each of the families of those killed in the fatal plane crash into Milestone School and College in Dhaka.

Each family of those injured in the incident will receive Tk 5 lakh one-time, and the injured victims will be treated at government hospitals at no cost.

The Advisers of Council made the decisions in a meeting held at the Chief Adviser’s Office in the capital’s Tejgaon on Thursday, December 11, with Chief Adviser Prof Mohammad Yunus in the chair.

Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam provided this information at a press conference at the Foreign Service Academy this afternoon.

On July 21, an FT-7 BGI fighter jet of Bangladesh Air Force crashed into Milestone School and College shortly after taking off from the Kurmitola airbase, leaving 35 individuals dead.

Of the 35 individuals who lost their lives in the incident, most were children.
