Police chiefs require IGP's permission to leave workplace
Chiefs of various police units have been directed not to leave the workplace without prior permission from the Inspector General of Police (IGP).
The Police Headquarters recently issued a letter on this matter, describing leaving the workplace without the IGP's consent as 'undisciplined'.
It has recently been noticed that chiefs of some units leave their workplace without prior permission from the IGP, which is undisciplined, said the letter.
The letter has been sent to the chiefs of all police units, including the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), the Special Branch of Police, all ranges, other metropolitan police, and Superintendents of Police of all districts.
The move comes after the electioneering for the 13th parliamentary elections began on Thursday, January 22.
