Body formed to probe fire on Chattala Express in Sitakunda
The authorities of Eastern Railway have formed a four-member probe body following a fire incident on the Dhaka-bound Chattala Express train in Faujdarhat of Sitakunda on Thursday.
Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Mostafizur Rahman Bhuiyan confirmed the matter.
He said that a four-member committee has been formed, led by Divisional Transport Officer (DTO), to determine the exact cause of the fire.
The body has been asked to submit its findings as early as possible.
Preliminary assessments suggest that the fire may have originated from a mechanical fault, although officials said the actual cause will be confirmed after the completion of the investigation.
